I moved from Rochester to Montour Falls in 2012, my new employer was paying for it so I used a big moving company out of Rochester and had a big truck for the day: things went pretty well, ended up with only minor damage to a couple of things. A year later I bought a house, and had Phil's Moving Company move me from Montour Falls to Hector, it was in the middle of a bad heat wave, a hot and humid day. The guys showed up exactly when they said they would, and went right to work. I had thought I 'd have time to wander around and pack up a few more boxes ("chowder" as they call it...), but they had the apartment done so fast I hardly got much else done. We headed to Hector, it was extremely humid - it didn't matter, they unloaded the trailer so fast all I could do was stand there and say, "bedroom", "garage", "living room". The whole move was done in a half a day, one trip. I had thought I'd need a truck to move, or at the very least have make two trips which would drive up the cost, it was amazing how they fit all my stuff into one trailer, and they told me they used the small one for my move.
Here's the deal with Phil's:
1. These are NICE GUYS, they're respectful but they're fun too. Teh point is, they're not a bunch of screwball that get called up every now and again when Phil's has an extra job to do. They do this day in and day out, they are PROFESSIONALS, and they take pride in how good they are at what they do. To me, that's a big thing. This is hard work - they choose to do it and they do it well. Impressive
2.Nothing got messed up. They are very careful in handling your best stuff, and they protect everything appropriately in the trailer. I had a brand new big screen TV, I had a huge leather couch they had to wrestle out of a bad doorway area, a huge cherry dresser -NOTHING GOT MESSED UP.
The price was fair, the job got done right, it was done when they said they'd do it - it was as painless as moving can be. If you're looking for movers, you need to check these guys out. They're good.

Tim, your two guys were just fantastic. At every leg of the trip, the respective customers were super impressed with their professionalism, the respect with which they moved and cared for our possessions and in general the great work they both did. You should hold on to these two guys - they are both top notch! Thanks again for your help. I will certainly recommend Phil's moving to people who are looking for a good mover from here on in. I have hired Phil's Moving Company seven times over the past ten years, most recently in March 2014. I don't even bother to get quotes from the "big guys" anymore, because I know that I can't get a better deal. The work is top notch, and the cherry on top is the attitude of the team experts as they plan and execute the move. No complaints, no hassles, and true service with a smile. Lately I have been hiring Tim and his crew to help me with the packing as well as the move, and for me this option is well worth the few extra bucks. Just one example, a nice little extra I found the evening after my move was a little bag set aside with a couple of place settings of my disposable dishware, so that I could eat without searching through box after box to unpack...Another thing I like is that they don't just "dump" everything in the new location, they put things where I ask them to...even if it means going up and down more stairs! Ask a true nomad...you need somebody in your corner to reduce the headache of moving, and for this Phil's Moving Company is made to order.
